Mahaska, Washington County, Kansas Cemetery data.

We recently transcribed data on the Mahaska Cemetery, where many of our relatives are buried. These records are taken from the spiral bound notebook kept by Mr. Bill Graham. The data we received was pretty sparse, including only the name, lot number and grave position within the lot. Each lot contains 5 graves and grave position numbers are assigned to each grave, numbering from north to south.

Please note that any inaccuracies in this transcription are probably the fault of Jim Morey and should not reflect on the good works of Mr. Graham and his predecessors on the Mahaska Cemetery Board. At some point in the not too distant future, we plan to go through the cemetery and take information from the stones to add to the information in this database. When this information was transcribed in early July 2001, 887 records were entered. It is our intent to continue to update the database three or four times a year.
